Here’s for the last day of summer

This wednesday was the last day of summer and the wedding season is now behind us. Which reminds me there was some more to it than just storm warnings. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m still 60/50 of a winter person myself. But there was a bit less sun this year than we’re used to. So – to keep warm in the chilly days and nights to come – here’s a reminder of what it was like in one evening […]

The b-roll from Bankeryd

This is how we approached the day of Pia & Joakim at VidaBlick, Bankeryd. Plus… a bit of a cartoonish slideshow for them to look at while they are waiting for the album 😉 Ella and the doggies. The bride’s mother being the soul of the evening at the barbeque the night before. Sigrid checking out the cargo parachute to see if we could incorporate it into an interesting shot (which never happened on the wedding day with a first […]

Pia & Joakim – wedding at Bankeryd, Sweden

We’ve never really experienced anything like the last wedding in Bankeryd, Sweden. I’ve said before that Iike to get to know and even become friends with the couple I’m shooting for. Pavel & Jekaterina Рthe doxielovers at K̵ltsu Manor

Pavel and Jekaterina are the type of couple you meet in the park on peaceful Sunday afternoons, walking their adorable doxies Kljopotchka and Palmotchka. We were lucky enough to meet them in September and shoot their energetic doxie engagement session. But the most wonderful part for […]

Pre-wedding shoot with Pia & Joakim

On Nov 28 last year I got an email from someone called Pia from Sweden. It was a wedding inquiry like many others. But it would be our first one in Sweden. Fast forward a day or so, with some specifics on travel arrangements etc, Pia is including her husband-to-be – Joakim – in the email thread on the Cc field and then comes something in Swedish: Herreguuuuud vad fint! Jag grÃ¥ter juuuu här!!!! Vi mÃ¥ste ha dem, vi mÃ¥ste! […]

Taking memories vs taking pictures

Oftentimes I find myself flipping through a select bunch of photo-related RSS feeds. Yesterday (can’t remember how exactly… ah, there it is, it was something like 9 wedding photographers shooting on film), I stumble upon Samm Blake’s website and see her minimalist and poetic personal work, mostly from travels. Obviously GAS kicks in and I Google which cameras/films she is using. And find myself reading the interview on skiptownonline.com. I get the answer to my question – she is fond […]
