We spent quite some time getting to Kökar, as mentioned in the previous post, and saw the Åland archipelago and its magnificence from a number of angles and Kökar stood out.
It is one big pile of naked gray rock – no beach, bits of forest – but a lot of emotions.
First, the winds that welcome you by blowing from different angles. Then the vistas – one seascape following another, not to mention the tiny little red boathouses that take you right back to childhood and Astrid Lindgren’s story about Tjorven who lived on the island of Saltkråkan. But the biggest emotion was by far the one we received from the warm and fun-loving people of the island, Mikaela and Patrik, their friends and families.
