Mikaela & Patrik – Wedding on Kökar, Åland – vol. 2

weddings

We spent quite some time getting to Kökar, as mentioned in the previous post, and saw the Åland archipelago and its magnificence from a number of angles and Kökar stood out.
It is one big pile of naked gray rock – no beach, bits of forest – but a lot of emotions.
First, the winds that welcome you by blowing from different angles. Then the vistas – one seascape following another, not to mention the tiny little red boathouses that take you right back to childhood and Astrid Lindgren’s story about Tjorven who lived on the island of Saltkråkan. But the biggest emotion was by far the one we received from the warm and fun-loving people of the island, Mikaela and Patrik, their friends and families.

Pavel & Jekaterina – the doxielovers at Kõltsu Manor
Pavel and Jekaterina are the type of couple you meet in the park on peaceful Sunday afternoons, walking their adorable doxies Kljopotchka and Palmotchka. They are modest, even shy at times, but when you get to know them, you’ll see that they are passionate about the things they love - food, science, travelling… and their dogs, of course! We were lucky enough to meet them in September and shoot their energetic doxie engagement session. But the most wonderful part for us was by far their special day at one of Estonia’s most ah-so-amazing manors, Kõltsu. As the mint-themed day unfolded before us, we got to know their wonderful friends and fam ...

Jaan Sokk Photography - custom handmade wedding albums with linen cover
Behold, the albums have arrived
The web is still not the only place where people view and show their pics. So I decided to give some wedding vendors and their couples an idea of what the experience of holding the memories in your hand should look like in my book (pun intended). These beauties are made by Marcin Bittner and his team at QTAlbums. Printed on 240g matte paper using a high-end 12-color inkjet. Available with linen, silk and leather covers in a rainbow of colors. Not only do they look fabulous, you can feel the quality of materials only by holding and viewing them yourself. 2 dressmakers and a wedding planner will be keeping these samples. Maybe, just may ...

Sille & Arvo – wedding at Viljandi Fort Ruins & Vanaõue
How come it (almost) always rains during your wedding morning and clears up by noon? This is how it happened this time as well. The pinch of nervousness was absolutely in both of them when getting ready. Usually it's the bride, but this time it was Arvo who was on his toes all the time. We did a few portraits before the ceremony and he was sure we had been there for 20 minutes while we were 5 minutes in. But it turned into a happy kind of excitement with every minute we got closer to the ceremony and all seemed to go well after all. This was one of the weddings you remember by the small emotional moments happening throughout the day. The ...
