Pavel & Jekaterina – the doxielovers at Kõltsu Manor

weddings

Pavel and Jekaterina are the type of couple you meet in the park on peaceful Sunday afternoons, walking their adorable doxies Kljopotchka and Palmotchka. They are modest, even shy at times, but when you get to know them, you’ll see that they are passionate about the things they love – food, science, travelling… and their dogs, of course!
We were lucky enough to meet them in September and shoot their energetic doxie engagement session. But the most wonderful part for us was by far their special day at one of Estonia’s most ah-so-amazing manors, Kõltsu. As the mint-themed day unfolded before us, we got to know their wonderful friends and family, enjoy the wonderful atmosphere, dancing, joy and laughter.

And yes – it’s becoming a bit of a habit now. Here is the day in stop motion as well. 389 frames in 2 and a half minutes. It wouldn’t be the same without the soundtrack from TheMusicBed.com (another recommendation from Jasmine Star).

Thank you, Pasha and Katja, for allowing us to capture your wedding day and all the special moments. Have the awesomest honeymoon in France!

Pia & Joakim – wedding at Bankeryd, Sweden
We’ve never really experienced anything like the last wedding in Bankeryd, Sweden. I’ve said before that Iike to get to know and even become friends with the couple I’m shooting for. But I never thought I’d actually miss being a tiny part of the community they have, helping with a bit of DIY and setting up the venue the day before, seeing the guests arrive. The moment that stopped me in my tracks was when it was about half an hour after midnight. I said to Joakim who had just arrived from the dancefloor with Pia, that if there are no more cigar events to shoot, we’ll be hitting the bed. In reply, among the many thank-you’s, he said - “We’re ...

The b-roll from Bankeryd
This is how we approached the day of Pia & Joakim at VidaBlick, Bankeryd. Plus... a bit of a cartoonish slideshow for them to look at while they are waiting for the album ;) Ella and the doggies. The bride's mother being the soul of the evening at the barbeque the night before. Sigrid checking out the cargo parachute to see if we could incorporate it into an interesting shot (which never happened on the wedding day with a first rank storm warning). And the best man insisting to take a portrait of me and not taking no as an answer while handing me the glass. The stuff that makes you remember it.

Best 5 of 2015
We could not help but still get caught a bit in the "best of" buzz. Cause these are like carved in stone in our minds. Queen of the world Sometimes it just so happens that in the middle of taking formal groupshots of family and friends you notice a fierce and confident bride, eyes sparkling and the veil moving like magic. All it took was 4-5 clicks of the shutter. Just a fleeting moment, filled with confidence and feeling gorgeous inside, as well as outside. Karo The truth is that all you need to do to get a good (read: truthful) portrait of somebody is to try and imagine what she is feeling at every given moment. Here is Karo, ...
