Engagement shoot at KUMU & Kadriorg

engagement shoot lifestyle

We met Pavel and Jekaterina at Taagepera at the end of September. They immediately agreed to do a pre-wedding shoot with us. Locations-wise, we couldn’t really come up with too many too fast, so we thought (as many other wedding couples in Tallinn), let’s go to Kadriorg. But Kadriorg also comes with KUMU (the Art Museum of Estonia) with all its great architecture. So it happened that we spent most of our shooting time last Saturday within the KUMU courtyard and nearby locations.

KUMU was not the last good thing that happened to us. After the couple had filled out our engagement shoot questionnaire, we were happy to find out they had 2 four-legged friends that were willing to participate – the daxhounds.

The resulting images are below. Your favorites? With the daxhounds or without? Enjoy 🙂

Stephanie & Derek at Tallinn Old Town
In addition to being 9 degrees Celsius in the second half of June, we had just another bit of luck with Stephanie & Derek, who came all the way from Hong Kong. It rained during the whole session. Steph & Derek wanted to save the memory of their trip to Tallinn - thus our session at Tallinn Old Town. Despite the bravery of the couple we decide to have a cup of mint tea and the delicious sweet almonds at Olde Hansa in the end.

Yesterday (can't remember how exactly... ah, there it is, it was something like 9 wedding photographers shooting on film), I stumble upon Samm Blake's website and see her minimalist and poetic personal work, mostly from travels. Obviously GAS kicks in and I Google which cameras/films she is using. And find myself reading the interview on skiptownonline.com. I get the answer to my question - she is fond of her Contax 645, Mamiya 6 and Olympus Trip. But a more important and thought-provoking section was how she describes her most memorable travel experience. ...
